ZBC is proud to announce we have a new addition to our roster of represented artists:
Nouel Riel is a mixed media artist living in Los Angeles. Combing esoteric principals of Jungian psychology, tantric art and eastern philosophy, Riel seeks to draw out the unseen into physical form. By using various media such as painting, photography, sculpture and performance, she communicates multiple perspectives of meditation on the abstract.
Maps is a meditation on the acceptance of death and our ephemeral state while simultaneously being in a very physical space.
Her Blind Photographs series is a body of work inspired by camera malfunction, where she highlights that an "image" can still be found even when film has been totally exposed to light, using mixed media to "expose" the energy of a portrait.
Riel's Heightened Neurosis is a self portrait series coming from a Buddhist practice that exercises in seeking and inflating all aspects of self still clinging to some sort of habit. The heightening of hidden patterns through this work allows the artist to let go of the wide-ranging frictions they've been creating.
These pieces are now available through ZBC.. Please contact us to learn more about her work!
