Zoe Bios Creative was founded in Silver Lake, California in 2011.

Zoe Bios Creative has coined the term ‘ArtEntouré’ to express a full circle cross-pollination of the art world with the design world. “Our fusion of art and design inspires a vitality of meaning in the everyday, hopefully provoking a higher consciousness in the way we live with, and make use of objects.”

ZBC’s is also a traverse across cultures, understanding how the relativity of meaning thrives along side the persistent universality of beauty. “We focus on the visual organization of new forms—chance arrangements and purposeful compositions. We want to inspire unconventional thinking, and creative design solutions while maintaining a mindful attention to beauty and contentment in every object that we offer…we are artists, curators, and collaborators.”

Happenings: Carmen Herrera - Lines of Sight

ZBC House Collection

By: Diane Granahan

In addition to our previous post on the Danny Lyon show, the Whitney Museum will be exhibiting the work of (now 101 year-old) Cuban-born artist Carmen Herrera in a tripartite show titled Carmen Herrera: Lines of Sight. The exhibit begins with work from her formative years, leading to what she defines as her most important series, and ending with some of her more architecturally defined pieces. Herrera's work is strikingly minimal, seeking simplicity through geometric shapes and color. Though her style of Geometric Minimalism was ahead of her time, she remained relatively unknown for decades until 1998, when the Museo Del Barrio presented her work. Her connection to the museum’s chair, Tony Bechara, helped draw more attention from buyers in the coming years, such as former president of MOMA, Agnes Gund.

Carmen Herrera: Lines of Sight is on view from September 16, 2016 -  January 2, 2017.
