On July 27th the Los Angeles Architecture and Design Museum celebrates its grand reopening with Shelter, a gala event to raise funds for innovative exhibitions, installations, and projects in the upcoming year. Along with libations, music and premiere cuisine, there will be a silent auction held inside their new warehouse-turned-museum in DTLA’s Arts District featuring various “shelters” created by 35 leading figures in the architecture and design community. Samples of work by some of the participating luminaries are below. A similarly titled inaugural exhibition, Shelter: Rethinking How We Live In Los Angeles, will open in August of this year.
