Zoe Bios Creative was founded in Silver Lake, California in 2011.

Zoe Bios Creative has coined the term ‘ArtEntouré’ to express a full circle cross-pollination of the art world with the design world. “Our fusion of art and design inspires a vitality of meaning in the everyday, hopefully provoking a higher consciousness in the way we live with, and make use of objects.”

ZBC’s is also a traverse across cultures, understanding how the relativity of meaning thrives along side the persistent universality of beauty. “We focus on the visual organization of new forms—chance arrangements and purposeful compositions. We want to inspire unconventional thinking, and creative design solutions while maintaining a mindful attention to beauty and contentment in every object that we offer…we are artists, curators, and collaborators.”

Fashion finds inspiration in Realism

ZBC House Collection

By: Diane Granahan

Amidst the mass amount of creativity during February’s New York Fashion Week, one designer who shined bright was Carin Rodebjer, whose collection was inspired by the photographs of Mary Ellen Mark. While diverse in subject, Mark’s photos are known for portraying a high level of humanity and compassion in a way that intimately expresses the beauty of realism. A similarity can already be drawn between the two artists’ work in that they are both inspired by people and have a shared desire to pull forth personalities in their work - revealing what’s inside each person rather than masking it. Among the many details in Rodebjer’s collection are t-shirts that quote Mark’s own statement “Reality is always extraordinary”, along with fishnet overlays that pay homage to Mark’s famous photo titled, Tiny in Her Halloween Costume. Rodebjer does a good job in tying these two worlds together with a unique humbleness and elegance. Mary Ellen Mark passed away in May 2015.
