From November 7th, 2015 - May 15, 2016, experimental designer Iris Van Herpen's clothing will be on view for the first time in the US in an exhibition titled Transforming Fashion at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia. She is known for pushing the boundaries with gender by extending the shape of a woman's body through manipulated details using innovative and high tech approaches combined with highly crafted and long forgotten handiwork. Bringing value back to fashion, her design philosophy is rooted in the importance of form and how it effects our emotions by pulling things together in a new way that is an optimal synthesis of tension and movement. She is a rule breaker in the best sense of the term and has made such waves she's caught the eye of many and designed for luminaries such as Björk. Highly recommend seeing this exhibition if you're in or near Atlanta in the next 7 months.
